Who am I?

Hello everyone, I am Ulmo, the
Valar lord of the water, friend to Manwë, and lover of song. I was created many years ago by Eru, as all of the Valar were, being as old as the seas, rivers, and oceans. For how I long to walk on the land among man and elf alike, but I cannot as my for strikes fear and dread in their poor hearts. That is one among many reasons I lie in the waters of Arda, yet it allows me to stay close to her. The water runs through Arda like the veins that keep man and elves alive, and for this reason I am closest to her, I know much of Arda even argued that I may even know more of Arda than Manwë. I mentioned my love of song, but no mortal nor elf knows my contribution. I am the creator of the fabled Ulumúri (pictured to the right), a legendary horn. My love for the elves is unrivaled by many, I have ferried them across the seas using an island I pulled from the sea to help the elves as a developing race reach the blessed realm. Although I myself never married, that isn’t to say I am without companionship, I have many friends. My dearest friend is my brother, Manwë, the Valar of the air. My other companions include Ossë, my vassal who guards the waters around Arda, and Salmar, the musical performer of Ulmo who created the Ulumuri, just to name a few. Many know me as the Lord of Waters, dwelling in the deep places of the sea, yet few understand that I dwell in every river, stream, and falling rain. Unlike the other Valar, I keep no dwelling in Valinor, for the world itself is my hall, and I hear the grief and longing of Arda more keenly than most. Mortals believe me distant, but I am nearer than they would ever believe. I move in the music of waves against the shore, in the whisper of brooks over stone, and in the silence beneath still waters. Though rarely do I reveal my true form, I am the most watchful of the Valar, for the cries of Arda flow to me in every current, and none of its sorrows are hidden from my song.

Signing off for now,
Ulmo Valar of the Waters
